Playa
From distant Venezuela, a sound installation of guitarist and sound artist Rubén D’Hers called Playa is arriving to Zagreb’s Mochvara Gallery. This complex artwork consists of fifteen acoustic guitars, over 500 meters of cables and wire and thirty electric motors. With its sounds and ambience, Playa evocates the movement of sea waves and successfully translates the hypnotically, fluttering peace of the South American coast to the large hall of the Pogon Jedinstvo.

After precisely three years of absence, the Ljubljana based intermedia artist Marko Batista returns to the Mochvara Gallery. In collaboration with AKSIOMA Institute for contemporary art from Ljubljana, Mochvara gallery this time presents Batista’s retrospective exhibition Temporary Objects and Hybrid Ambiances, a series of nine artworks created in the last six years of artistic practices that bring performative intermedia practices, sound and visual installations, and physical-sensorial experiments in an environment oversaturated by machinery, technological diversions and intensive sounds.
