António Caramelo was awarded a master’s degree in digital arts at Media Centre of Art and Design, Barcelona. Since 2001, he has been teaching media arts in the department of visual arts at the University of Évora, Portugal. For his lecture he will present Foucault's concept of „dispositif" as the "heterogeneous ensemble consisting of discourses, institutions, regulatory decisions, laws, administrative measures, scientific statements, philosophical, and moral propositions" and show some connections between this concept and the contemporary art practices strategically engaged with the invisible, the void and the nothingness.
